Party of Five

"This is not how I imagined my family would look. No, it is so much more beautiful"

Israel Michael Lewis

Hi Social Media!  Meet our newest Lewis! Israel (Izzy) came to us in July 2016 as a foster child. This is the first time we have adopted a child from foster care. For the first year that he lived with us, reintegration with biological family was the goal.  Once the caseworkers, District Attorney, Guardian Ad Litem, and a judge decide that this goal is no longer viable, the goal changes to adoption.  So for the last year, we have been working on the process of adopting him.

There are so many blog posts I want to write about: failed reintegration, adoption through foster care, special needs adoption, the revolving door of workers, and so much more, but today I really want to celebrate by showing you all the pictures that I have been unable to post for the past two years!  I am sure I am missing pictures, but from now on you will see his cuteness in real time!

Enjoy!
